Swedish

The most common type of massage which includes long flowing strokes, kneading and circular movements over the skin. Massage oils, creams or lotions are used to reduce friction. Swedish massage is very relaxing and helpful in reducing pain and joint stiffness. It promotes circulation and better range of motion.

Neuromuscular / NMT

A step by step process in preparing the muscles for treatment and alleviation of Tender Points (TrP) and Trigger Points (TrP) which can cause pain. Usually medium to deep pressure is utilized as well as narrow tools such as the therapist's elbow and knuckles.

Prenatal Massage

A safe and natural way of relieving aches and pains associated with pregnancy. It is very beneficial to the baby and mother to be. It promotes better circulation, relaxation, and helps prepare the body for delivery. It also relieves stress on weight bearing joints and eases muscle tension. This type of massage is performed as a side lying massage. The mother to be is placed on her side on top of body cushions for support and comfort.

IF YOUR PREGNANCY IS CONSIDERED 'HIGH RISK' I WILL NEED A WRITTEN RELEASE FROM YOUR ATTENDING PHYSICIAN PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH ANY TREATMENT.

Examples of high risk are twins, previous miscarriages, preterm labor, pre-eclampsia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes or deep vein thrombosis.

Craniosacral Therapy / CST

A gentle hands on method of evaluating the function of the craniosacral system. This system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. CST is helpful in encouraging the body to correct itself from imbalances or dysfunctions in the cranial sacral system. Imbalances or dysfunctions within this system can cause disabilities to the sensory, motor or neurological system. CST is very relaxing and non invasive. The client can remain fully clothed for this session.

Reiki

An ancient healing tradition rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 19th century. Japanese words (Rei) meaning (Gods wisdom or higher power) and (Ki) meaning (life force energy). Reiki is an energetic system of healing which is administered by the 'laying on of hands' to the client. Reiki is a spiritually guided life force energy that flows through the practitioner into the client. It is a simple, safe and natural method of healing. Reiki treats the whole person, mind, body and spirit. It can be used in correlation with other medical and therapeutic techniques. Reiki is very calming and goes into the body where the energy is needed. The client can remain fully clothed and sessions are approximately one hour.

Heated Stone Massage (in calls only)

Smooth basalt stones are placed at key points on the body and then incorporated into the massage. The heat from the stones promotes blood flow into the muscles helping them to loosen. A great way to ease sore, aching and tired muscles. Helps to alleviate back pain/aches, pain associated with osteoarthritis, arthritis, stress and anxiety to name a few.

On Site Chair Massage

This is a great way to reward employees. Clients sit fully clothed in a specially designed chair. The therapist massages the neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands and scalp (optional). This type of massage helps to relax tight muscles, improves energy and alertness, reduces anxiety/stress and helps prevent injury claims. It can help to increase moral and productivity in the workplace creating a win/win situation between employer and employee.
